Why "KAY'S ATELIER"
Hey my name is Kay
Atelier is a French word meaning an artisan’s studio, a place where tangible work is created with care, intention, and skill. I chose this name because I truly see photography as a craft: thoughtful, hands-on, and deeply personal. Every image is created slowly and intentionally, with the same care an artisan brings to their work.
I love what I do, and I feel incredibly grateful to be invited into moments that are so personal. It’s a privilege that I approach with care, curiosity, and intention every time.
Mediterranean at heart
I am fluent in Arabic, French, English and Italian. Growing up multilingual taught me to connect easily with people from different backgrounds and to read emotion beyond words. It’s become a quiet strength in my work, helping couples feel understood, comfortable, and completely themselves in front of my camera.
And perhaps it’s my Mediterranean upbringing, where family gatherings are full of warmth, connection, and celebration (sometimes very loud too haha), that makes me so drawn to weddings. I recognise the warmth, the closeness, the unspoken moments, and I photograph them the way they’re lived.
How are you during the day?
I am calm, warm, and confident. I’m there to support you and document your day as it naturally unfolds, without being intrusive. I pay close attention to what’s happening around me, anticipating moments as they happen rather than directing them.
When it’s helpful, I step in with clear direction, especially during portraits or group photos, so you feel comfortable and know exactly what to do. I guide when needed and step back when it’s time to let things unfold naturally. Many couples tell me they quickly forget the camera is even there, which is exactly how it should feel.
My aim is to create a relaxed, reassuring presence so you can enjoy your day with ease, knowing your memories are being thoughtfully and beautifully captured in the background.
What is your photography style ?
My photography style is warm documentary with a cinematic and romantic touch. I’m drawn to honest emotions, soft light, and candid moments.
I love working with natural movement and quiet moments, the kind that feel real and unposed.
In editing, I lean into warm tones, soft grain, and a touch of black and white, always keeping skin tones natural and the overall look timeless, editorial and elegant.
If you are not used to being photographed
During our pre-wedding consultation call, a few of the couples I photograph tell me they feel a little nervous in front of the camera; and that’s completely normal.
My approach is designed to help you feel at ease quickly, so being photographed never feels awkward or overwhelming.
You can simply be yourselves and enjoy the experience.
